Features

Designed to support high-density AI and cloud workloads, the BEL1 data center will offer an initial capacity of 7.5 MW. Its power infrastructure will be supplied by the Miramar high-voltage substation, operated by AXIA, ensuring a 100% renewable energy supply certified through I-RECs under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This approach combines energy reliability, operational efficiency, and sustainability.

Like all Elea data centers, BEL1 will feature a direct expansion (DX) cooling system. This closed-loop technology uses refrigerant circuits instead of evaporative cooling towers, eliminating water consumption for cooling while maximizing operational efficiency.

Belém is emerging as a strategic hub for Brazil’s digital infrastructure. With BEL1, Elea extends its distributed platform into the Northern Region, strengthening connectivity across the Amazon and establishing a complementary route to the Fortaleza hub, enhancing the resilience and diversity of the country’s digital infrastructure.

As a carrier-neutral facility, BEL1 provides flexible interconnection, network redundancy, and carrier choice, enabling enterprises to position their critical infrastructure closer to users, data, and new business opportunities throughout Northern Brazil.

Connected to the Norte Conectado backbone and coastal fiber routes integrated with international cable systems, BEL1 enhances route diversity and resilience across Elea’s national infrastructure. By establishing Belém as a strategic interconnection hub, the facility strengthens regional and international traffic flows while reinforcing Brazil’s position as a key platform for digital connectivity in Latin America.
