Elea Digital acquires TIM’s data center in Porto Alegre
With relevant expansion plans, Elea Digital announces the biggest data center set-up in the south of Brazil
Elea Digital and TIM (TIMS3) announced today signing a purchase and sale agreement of TIM’s data center, located in the technology and innovation hub, in Porto Alegre downtown, Rio Grande do Sul. Thevalue of the sale won’t be released by the parties.
With the new acquisition, Elea Digital states its position in the South of Brazil and aims to contribute in solving the lack of digital infrastructure of this geographic area. It is a mark of seven data centers in its ecosystem and Elea Digital second site (POA2) in Porto Alegre city.
Through the partnership with TIM – that will remain using the data center through a long term colocation contract -, Elea Digital plans to expand this asset, that nowadays has four thousand m² built, with 5MW of power. It will be the largest data center installed in the south of Brazil.
Also present in Curitiba (CTA1), São Paulo (SPO1), Brasilia (BSB1 and BSB2) and Rio de Janeiro (RJO1), Elea Digital platform of edge ecosystem will continue to cooperate with the expansion of the country’s digital capability, focusing mainly on 5G technology, cloud applications and the company transformation.
The task of promoting the country’s digitalization now gets strengthened by the partnership with TIM, leader in this sort of transformation in Brazil.
